The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to paragraph 3.2.47 of the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, which locations are in scope for modernisation under the Airfield Operating Surfaces programme.

As this Government moves our Armed Forces to warfighting readiness we are investing in our RAF bases. Resurfacing is underway at both RAF Brize Norton and RAF Coningsby, and the following RAF sites are in scope for future modernisation of Air Operating Surfaces:

Leuchars

RAF Waddington

RAF Valley
