The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 22 July 2026, to question 17503 on Telecommunications Cables: Seas and Oceans, what is the breakdown of the £330million investment in critical underwater infrastructure protection.

The £330 million investment will enhance the United Kingdom’s critical underwater infrastructure protection capabilities. This includes advanced uncrewed systems, surveillance, data processing exploitation and dissemination, supporting people, training, maintenance, technical support and through-life sustainment. The precise allocation remains subject to ongoing capability development, programme and commercial decisions. The Department does not comment on detailed operational capabilities.
