To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, with reference to the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority Major Projects Annual Report 2025 to 2026, Tables, Geological Disposal Facility, what progress has she made in delivering the action plan to address the current Delivery Confidence Assessment of RED.

The UK Government is committed to implementing geological disposal. A Geological Disposal Facility is essential for the safe, permanent disposal of the UK’s most hazardous radioactive waste from both legacy sites and new nuclear projects.
DESNZ continues to work closely with Nuclear Waste Services as they deliver the action plan, which includes a review and update of the programme’s business case and lifetime plan.
