The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to row 157 entitled European Common Radar System Mk 2 in the spreadsheet accompanying the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority's document entitled NISTA Major Projects Annual Report 2025-26, published on 13 July 2026, what progress he has made in securing an acceptable delivery schedule for P4E from Eurofighter through the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency.

The UK continues to work closely with colleagues from Eurofighter, NETMA and the other Core Nations (Spain, Italy, Germany) on a delivery schedule for the 4-Nation Phase 4 Enhancement (P4E) upgrade package that best meets UK operational requirements and critically the integration of the new ECRS Mk2 radars onto UK Typhoon aircraft by 2030. In parallel and along with other Nations, UK has made commitments to long lead activity to protect the critical path for P4E delivery and earlier this year announced a £453 million order for the delivery of the ECRS Mk2 radars to be integrated onto Typhoon via the P4E upgrade package.
