The question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, with reference to the written statement entitled Defence funding update, HCWS165, published on 30 June 2026, what the a) international objectives and b) procurement improvements are that comprise the £2.4 billion that his Department is taking responsibility for.

Answered by Treasury

Through the Defence Investment Plan, HM Treasury will provide £2.4 billion additional support by taking on responsibility for the cost of further support for ongoing international objectives which includes Ukraine Security Guarantees in case of a ceasefire, and unlocking additional savings from improved procurement.
