To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what discussions his Department has had with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on reviewing statutory rights for workplace green representatives.

The Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero engage regularly on matters relating to employment rights and the transition to net zero. The Clean Energy Jobs Plan sets out how government will work closely with trade unions and industry to ensure clean energy jobs are well paid, safe, accessible to everyone, and have good working conditions.
The Employment Rights Act 2025 strengthened existing rights and introduced new rights for employees who are trade union representatives.
There are currently no plans to review or introduce a separate statutory framework for workplace green representatives. Where a workplace green representative is also a trade union representative, they may benefit from existing statutory rights relating to trade union representatives.
