India: Jaguar Aircraft

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 23398

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 3 July 2026 to question 13283 on India: Jaguar Aircraft, for what reason the 42 Jaguar aircraft his Department holds are not listed in the UK armed forces equipment and formations 2026.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The UK armed forces equipment and formations 2026 publication only includes fixed-wing aircraft that are in service. This includes those in storage to preserve airframe hours, but excludes those operated under contracts, in the process of being disposed of, or otherwise no longer in active fleet management. The MOD does not hold a central, comprehensive list of all retired aircraft still held. This information could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
