Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 23448

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the UK armed forces equipment and formations 2026, published on 20 August 2026, what is the status of the 17 Falcon vehicles the fleet reduced by between 2025 and 2026.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Army continually assesses its current and planned capabilities to ensure it is appropriately equipped to face any adversary. Routine changes in equipment numbers are part of this process.

Of the 17 FALCON platforms removed from the overall fleet, eight have been transferred to the Fire Unit Support Vehicle (variant B) Project, four are being repurposed by the Royal Air Force, two have been disposed of, and three have been withdrawn from service and are held by the Design Team.
