Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 23449

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority Major Projects Annual Report 2025 to 2026, Tables, Ground Based Air Defence, what is the extent of the resource constraints across both the a) programme team and b) delivery organisations.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) programme team, which forms part of the National Armaments Delivery Group, continues to support the delivery of this important capability programme.

The programme team balances GBAD delivery with wider operational commitments and the requirements associated with Urgent Capability Requirements. To maintain progress against key milestones, activity is focused on the highest-priority outputs, while a range of delivery approaches is being considered to support the programme's long-term objectives and ensure effective delivery.

The Department keeps programme requirements under regular review to ensure that the skills, expertise and capacity required for successful delivery remain aligned with programme priorities and capability needs.
