Visitor Levy
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, when he will outline the findings of the consultation on the introduction of an overnight visitor levy in England; whether guarantees will be in place to ensure that, where revenues are collected and distributed by mayoral strategic authorities, all constituencies within those authorities benefit from the scheme; and whether revenues raised through the levy will be ring-fenced for cultural and heritage purposes.
Answered by Treasury
The consultation on the visitor levy has closed and the Government will publish a response in due course. It will be for strategic authorities to decide whether a levy is the right choice for their region and how funds should be reinvested within their areas to drive growth.
