The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what steps he plans to take to ensure that residents in Newcastle-under-Lyme benefit from the implementation of His Majesty's Government's Industrial Strategy.

Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade

Our Industrial Strategy is working to drive up business investment to create the sustained high-quality jobs within the UK’s most productive sectors and foundational industries. The Strategy sets the national framework for delivering reindustrialisation and regional growth, which will work to drive up living standards across the UK.

We are already taking steps that will benefit residents of Newcastle-under-Lyme; Newcastle and Stafford College Group is one of four Technical Excellence Colleges focusing on Advanced Manufacturing, helping to provide better training and job opportunities within the sector.
