The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment he has made of the potential implications for his policies of the political situation in Zambia following the Zambian Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in August 2026.

Answered by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

The UK remains committed to working with Zambia to progress our shared goals: economic growth, resilience and opportunity; peace and stability; and the clean energy transition. We support credible and inclusive democratic processes in Zambia, and will continue to urge for transparency and a commitment to due process, including through our High Commission in Lusaka.
