Ministry of Defence: Unpaid Work
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether any internship schemes managed by (a) his Department and (b) each of its Arm’s Length Bodies are restricted to applicants on the basis of (i) ethnicity, (ii) social class and (iii) both.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is not aware of any internship schemes managed by the Department or its Arm's Length Bodies that are restricted to applicants solely on the basis of ethnicity or social class. The MOD participates in the Civil Service Summer Internship Programme. The only internship scheme made available through the MOD in the last 12 months, other than the Fast Stream Summer Internship Programme, was the Autism Exchange Internship Programme. No other Departmental internship schemes have been identified.
