Asked by Charlie DewhirstConservativeDepartment for Energy Security and Net ZeroTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 23980

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what is the percentage office workplace attendance requirement in each of the department’s offices, broken down by location; and whether attendance statistics are collated for each of those individual offices.

Answered by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

The office workplace attendance requirement is a minimum of 40% at all the Department’s office locations.

The Department collates anonymised and aggregated occupancy statistics for some of its locations:

Belfast – Erskine House

Darlington – Feethams House

Edinburgh – Queen Elizabeth House

Leeds – 7-8 Wellington Place

London – 55 Whitehall & 3-8 Whitehall Place.

Additionally, the Department provides quarterly data to the Cabinet Office for its main London building, showing average building occupancy for each month in the quarter. This is published on GOV.UK.
