Ministry of Defence: Unpaid Work

Asked by Charlie DewhirstConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 24043

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, further to the answer of 8 July 2026 to Question 14349 on Civil Service: Temporary Employment, if he will list each of the internship schemes that have been made available in the last 12 months through the department, other than the Fast Stream Summer Internship Programme.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is not aware of any internship schemes managed by the Department or its Arm's Length Bodies that are restricted to applicants solely on the basis of ethnicity or social class. The MOD participates in the Civil Service Summer Internship Programme. The only internship scheme made available through the MOD in the last 12 months, other than the Fast Stream Summer Internship Programme, was the Autism Exchange Internship Programme. No other Departmental internship schemes have been identified.
