To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of grid capacity on renewable energy investment in Ayrshire.

Responsibility for strategic planning, including assessed the impact of grid capacity on renewable energy deployment, sits with the National Energy System Operator (NESO). NESO's strategic network plans are informed by the Future Energy Scenarios and, in future, will be guided by the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP), which will provide a long-term view of the expected location of electricity generation.
Government is committed to addressing decades of underinvestment and accelerating the build out of electricity network infrastructure, which will support the deployment of renewable energy, strengthen energy security and unlock investment in communities across the country, including Scotland.
