Wind Power: Seas and Oceans

Asked by Alan GemmellLabourDepartment for Energy Security and Net ZeroTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 24226

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, how much funding has been allocated to offshore wind supply chain development in Ayrshire since July 2024.

Answered by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

The Government is committed to strengthening supply chains for offshore wind and to good growth in every postcode across the whole of the UK. Investments are made on a case by case basis rather than by regional breakdown by the Government, Great British Energy and the National Wealth Fund including a £1 billion public-private package led by GBE to grow the UK's offshore wind supply chain. We will continue to look at opportunities to invest in Ayrshire.
