Electricity: Prices
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, whether her Department plans further reforms to reduce electricity costs for households.
Answered by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
Tackling affordability is this Government's number one priority. The Government is removing VAT from domestic electricity bills from 1 October, in time to impact the next Ofgem price cap.
This comes on top of measures announced at the last Budget which took an average £150 of costs off energy bills and are now factored into bills for the years to come.
The Government will continue to explore ways to lower energy bills for consumers and reduce barriers to adopting clean technologies.
