Solar Power: South East
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of plug-in solar deployment on the capacity requirements of the electricity distribution network in the south east of England.
Answered by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
The Department expects the impact of plug-in solar on network capacity requirements to be small as the maximum power output is low and most of the electricity generated is expected to be self-consumed. We have worked with the Energy Networks Association (ENA) to develop a simple consumer registration platform to provide network operators with visibility of installations and support network planning.
