To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, how many (a) minor, (b) moderate and (c) major incident notification forms have been submitted to the Office for Nuclear Regulation in each year since 2010.

ONR’s incident notification process requires dutyholders to state their judgement on an incident’s significance as minor, moderate or major in the initial notification form. A “major incident notification form” therefore does not necessarily correspond to a “major incident” or represent ONR’s final assessment.
The same incident may be reported more than once where it involves multiple dutyholders or ONR regulatory purposes.
Figures cover dutyholder notifications submitted between 1 January 2017 and 1 September 2026. ONR introduced its WIReD information-management system in 2016; earlier data is not retrievable within the timeframe.
