Airports: Fees and Charges
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what comparative assessment her Department has made of the (a) prevalence and (b) level of passenger drop-off charges at UK airports with major international airports overseas.
Answered by Department for Transport
The Department has not made a comparative assessment of the prevalence or level of drop-off charges at UK airports with major international airports overseas. Decisions on the provision and pricing of airport parking are commercial matters for individual airport operators. Many airports across the UK offer free drop-off alternatives, either within walking distance of the airport or via a complementary shuttle bus service. The Department will continue to engage with operators to help ensure that, where airports choose to charge, they are implemented in a way that is fair and transparent.
