Agriculture: Finance
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the Department's press release entitled New support to help farmers thrive for generations, published on 16 July 2026, whether recipients of funding will be required to demonstrate measurable improvements in farm profitability as a condition of continued support.
Answered by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
There will be no requirement for grant recipients to demonstrate improvements in farm profitability as a condition of continued support. Farm profitability is influenced by a wide range of factors, many of which fall outside the scope of the fund and cannot be directly attributed to funded activity. However, recipients will be required to participate in monitoring and evaluation activities, which will help the department assess the fund's contribution to farm profitability and wider business outcomes.
