The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the Competition and Markets Authority's press release entitled Parking charges: CMA takes action to drive improvements for motorists, published on 16 July 2026, what discussions she has had with the Competition and Markets Authority on implementing its recommendations for improving standards in the private parking sector.

The Government is committed to raising standards across the private parking industry and welcomes the CMA's insights on practices within the private parking industry. We will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders, including the CMA, to better protect and support motorists.
