Parking Offences: Fines
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the Competition and Markets Authority's press release entitled Parking charges: CMA takes action to drive improvements for motorists, published on 16 July 2026, what data her Department holds on the number of appeals lodged against private parking charges in each of the last five years.
Answered by Department for Transport
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government does not hold data on either the number of appeals lodged against private parking charges or the proportion of those appeals that were successful in each of the last five years. Responsibility for operating and administering appeals currently rests with the relevant parking operators and independent appeals services.
