To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, with reference to the UK Space Agency press release entitled UK invests in homegrown space tech to boost national resilience, published on 20 July 2026, what metrics his Department will use to assess the outcomes of the funding.

The UK Space Agency will assess the funding through proportionate monitoring and independent evaluation. Grant recipients will report during delivery and after project completion, with information supplemented where feasible by administrative and external data. Indicative metrics include progress in technology readiness and technical milestones; products or services brought to market; customers, contracts and revenue secured; follow-on private and public investment; jobs and skills created or supported; new collaborations; and wider strategic or resilience benefits. The final indicator set and reporting frequency will be tailored to projects and refined through the Agency’s forthcoming Space Ecosystem monitoring and evaluation framework.
