Space Technology: Finance
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, with reference to the UK Space Agency press release entitled UK invests in homegrown space tech to boost national resilience, published on 20 July 2026, what plans his Department has to support the commercialisation of technologies developed through the new funding.
Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
The UK Space Agency Accelerator is central to the Government's commitment to ensuring that investment in space innovation supports national resilience while creating clear routes to commercialisation and growth. Applications are currently open for the Accelerator’s Fusion Early-Stage Investment Completion and Geo Pre-Scale Up programmes, offering bespoke support to help companies commercialise, strengthen investment readiness and contribute to business growth.
An objective of the C-LEO and NSIP programmes is to accelerate the commercialisation of key technologies and industry capabilities for UK firms to meet demand for high-volume constellation production delivered via competitive funding calls. The British Business Bank's expanded mandate also enables it to support businesses scaling technology in the space sector, helping innovative UK space companies access the growth capital needed to scale and stay in the UK.
