The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to her Department's press release entitled Over £7 million to fuel zero-emission flight across the UK, published on 23 July 2026, whether any matched funding or private sector investment is required from the successful applicants as a condition of receiving Government funding.

For all projects supported by the Zero Emission Flight Demonstrator Competition costs are split between partners in the project and the Government. Under Innovate UK’s funding rules the division of costs is dependent upon the types of organisations, for example small and medium enterprises, involved in a project.

Innovate UK publish information on their website on current funding rules and the eligible costs which projects funded through competitions they run may claim.
