Undocumented Migrants: Organised Crime

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentHome OfficeTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 25682

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent discussions have taken place with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency on tackling organised illegal migration networks operating between North Africa and Europe.

Answered by Home Office

The Home Office maintains regular engagement with Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, as part of the UK-Frontex Working Arrangement. Recent exchanges have focussed on risk analysis and intelligence sharing that supports collective efforts to tackle organised immigration crime and migrant smuggling networks operating along key migration routes, including between North Africa and Europe.

The Government remains committed to working with international partners to disrupt organised immigration crime upstream and strengthen border security.
