Asked by James McMurdockIndependentDepartment for Business, Innovation, Science and TradeTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 25767

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, with reference to the Government press release entitled £130 million for cutting-edge next generation vehicles securing over 1,800 jobs, published on 10 August 2026, what metrics will be used to assess whether the Government funding has delivered value for money.

Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade

Projects announced in the Government's press release of 10 August 2026 are subject to ongoing monitoring and evaluation. This includes assessing their delivery against agreed milestones with grant claims paid in arrears, overseen by the programme's delivery partners, as well as an assessment of outcomes, including private investment leveraged and projected jobs supported. Projects were selected following a competitive exercise.
