Motor Vehicles: Manufacturing Industries
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, with reference to the Government press release entitled £130 million for cutting-edge next generation vehicles securing over 1,800 jobs, published on 10 August 2026, what assessment has been made of the cost to the Exchequer per job expected to be created or supported through the Government's contribution.
Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
Projects announced in the Government's press release of 10 August 2026 were assessed through the relevant programme assessment processes before funding was awarded. Value for money is assessed across a range of benefits, including jobs created or supported, private investment leveraged and wider economic benefits, rather than through a single cost-per-job measure.
