To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment has been made of the effectiveness of the UK-Albania Readmission Agreement in facilitating the return of Albanian nationals with no legal right to remain in the UK.

The UK has a strong relationship with Albania, underpinned by close cooperation on migration and returns.
Ministers and officials engage regularly with the Albanian government on a range of matters, including cooperation on the return of Albanian nationals and wider efforts to tackle illegal migration.
The UK-Albania readmission agreement remains an effective mechanism for facilitating returns to Albania. This includes those that have arrived in the UK illegally and foreign national offenders.
The Government considers the UK-Albania Readmissions Agreement to be an important mechanism in facilitating the return of Albanian nationals and work closely with Albanian authorities to strengthen international cooperation.
