Visitor Levy: Wales

Asked by Charlie DewhirstConservativeWales OfficeTabled Answered 2 September 2026UIN 901085

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, whether he has had discussions with the Welsh Government on the potential impact of the proposed visitor levy on the Welsh economy.

Answered by Anna McMorrin

I am pleased that the UK Government has followed the lead of the Welsh Government by introducing a similar overnight levy in England, enabling mayors to invest further in transport, infrastructure and the visitor economy, rebuilding resilience that is so sorely needed in our communities.
