Small Businesses: Employment
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what support he plans to provide to small businesses to provide employment in local communities.
Answered by Treasury
The government is supporting employment in local communities across the United Kingdom by helping small businesses to start, scale and grow.
Through our modern Industrial Strategy, we are backing growth in key sectors with strong potential to create high-quality jobs, while supporting investment and strengthening regional growth. Alongside this, the Small Business Plan, launched in July 2025, is delivering a comprehensive package of measures to help businesses grow and succeed, and later this year, the government will publish a High Streets Strategy to support long-term regeneration.
Together, these measures will help small businesses expand, invest and boost employment in communities across the UK.
