The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what steps his Department is taking with local authorities to facilitate reindustrialisation in areas affected by the loss of manufacturing businesses.

As the Prime Minister set out, a more intentional approach to reindustrialisation is required to deliver good growth in every postcode Mayors have set out their visions and plans for their economies in their Local Growth Plans. We will continue to back these, including through supporting all parts of the country to take more public control over their investment strategy through the establishment Good Growth Funds. Building on the progress of the Industrial Strategy, we will identify priority sectors and develop the triple helix approach to economic development - entwining business, academia and government behind the plan.
