Digital Technology: Disadvantaged
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what steps her Department is taking to improve digital inclusion in Ealing Southall constituency.
Answered by Vicky Foxcroft
As set out in the Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Plan, everyone, in every community, should be able to benefit from technology. That’s why we launched the £11.9m Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund, backing local projects across the country to help people get online. Ealing Council was part of the project run by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, trialling targeted strategies to help older people, in particular, access digital services. Projects like these, shaped to the community’s needs, show exactly why we are putting local communities in the driving seat to improve digital inclusion.
