The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment her Department has made of the potential merits of replacing Council Tax with a Proportional Property Tax.

The Government remains committed to ensuring the council tax system is fair for taxpayers and local authorities and will continue to keep all parts of the system under review. The Chancellor makes announcements about tax policy at the Budget.
