Update to Government Security

Written ministerial statementMade by Dan JarvisThe Minister of State for SecurityCabinet OfficeHCWS1065

The Government continues to take the security of its systems and physical infrastructure extremely seriously. In November 2022 the previous administration instructed all government departments to cease deployment of surveillance equipment on their sensitive sites, where it is manufactured by companies subject to the National Intelligence Law of the People’s Republic of China. It also committed to provide an annual update on the matter to Parliament.

This Government has continued the work at pace, and I am pleased to confirm all sensitive government sites originally identified with such equipment have now finished their replacement work.
