Verbatim (“Verbatim”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a live, searchable transcript of proceedings in the House of Commons, available at getverbatim.co. Verbatim is a service operated by Verbatim AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17373775). You can reach us at hello@getverbatim.co.
This policy explains the cookies Verbatim uses. In short: one essential cookie keeps you signed in, and analytics cookies are used only if you accept them. We use nothing for advertising.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They can be “strictly necessary” (needed for the site to work) or used for analytics, personalisation or advertising.
2. The cookies we use

The session cookie is set only after you sign in, and is flagged HttpOnly and
SameSite=Lax (and Secure over HTTPS). The Google Analytics cookies are
not set unless you consent — see below.
3. Analytics & your consent
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics cookies. Nothing analytics-related loads until you choose. If you click Accept, we load Google Analytics (provided by Google) to understand usage in aggregate. If you click Decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is never loaded. Your choice is remembered on your device; to change it, clear this site’s data in your browser and you’ll be asked again. Analytics data is processed by Google, which may involve a transfer to the USA under appropriate safeguards — see our Privacy Policy. We do not use advertising cookies.
Separately from cookies, we keep some information on our own servers to run the service — for example your search history and sign-in records — as described in our Privacy Policy. That is account data tied to your login, not browser tracking.
4. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and decline analytics via the
banner. If you block the session cookie you won’t be able to stay signed in, but you can
still read anything on Verbatim that doesn’t require an account.
